Alternate Oil Filter

I have a '98 F150 4.6 4x4 and want to see if there's an alternative oil filter that's larger I can get for it, my oil filter is located behind the bumper in the front of the wheel so there's plenty of room. I know all I need is same threads and gasket diameter, but anyone know what'll work off hand?

why?......

More filtering capacity, instead of the short stubby one.

if that was necessary, FORD would have installed a larger unit. What do you think would happen to the motor life if they intentionaly installed an undersize filter ?

The opposite of installing a bigger one....thats one reason that people install remote filters and Ford doesnt necessarily want an engine last forever, it gets accessed for what will due and get what's adequate....Bigger filter, more filtering, if you got room, why not?

I think RMIs work just as intended.
