Butt gettin kicked by the baby's butt

Just finished some up-pipe gaskets and an EBPV delete.

Been fighting for a little more than a day to get the turbo back in and mated up with the up-pipe collector but having a bear of a time. I've got the bolts around the donuts pretty loose so I can manipulate the junction a bit and only the front bolt on the turbo to allow a little play there. Bungeed the downpipe to the PS of the engine bay so it's not in the mix.

Was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks for getting these two to mate up and get the clamp on?

Thanks

Keep the turbo loose so it and the collector have max freedom to mesh. Have both the turbo bolts in but loose, ditto the uppie bolts. With everything connected but loose getting the baby's butt and turbo together can happen. Then feel that the turbo o-rings are still in place, bolt the turbo down, then tighten the up-pipe bolts last. Worked for me anyhow. A good hi temp anti seize on your donuts and on the bolts is your friend.

It's just awkward unless you have 8 foot tentacle arms or can levitate over the engine bay. Have a cold one and try again manana.

Lucas assembly lube helps loads to keep orings in place...
I like to have the collector to pipes connections tight... pipes to manifolds connections loose as all get out.

You could, if its giving you too much grief... completely remove the drivers side up pipe maybe to get the collector and turbo lined up. Then get the marmon on it so you dont lose dowell pin alignment... then put the other up pipe in place...

Exactly like Christof13t said, loosen up the pipe to manifold bolts and your problems will be over.
