Are the chrome upper mirror sections on 2013 KR
Are the upper chrome mirror sections on the 2013 King Ranch available separately? Can they be attached to standard mirrors?
|
They are not real chrome simply plastic "chrome". Tap on one and you will see.
I'm sure they are available as a part but it doesn't appear to be easy to find. I found the standard black ones and also the primed for the limited but nothing about the king ranch. |
You can find the caps on Ebay.

Thanks guys, yep, chromed plastic. I see complete aftermarket covers on the web and Ebay but not the Ford KR uppers.
|
Unless they changed the design of 13 mirrors, here you go
07 12 Ford Expedition Chrome Plated Full ABS Mirror Cover A Pair | eBay |
yes, I've seen the aftermarket full covers, was considering the original Ford upper chrome pieces like the KRs. Thanks

I don't think that 3M tape would last too long on that mirror, you start head cycling, throwing in impacts and water intrusion and I would be shocked if they lasted 3 years.
3M tape is good stuff The window vent visors were still on my last explorer when I sold it... I owned it 11 years. |
Interesting discussion as I was under a friends new Chevrolet 3/4 ton pickup and was shocked to learn that beautiful chrome monstrous front bumper is CHROMED PLASTIC ! I was so disappointed ..!!! I guess that all do it here or there but REALLY on the FRONT BUMPER? Glad my ford it colormatched vinyl..

johnkn check out this link, they have them listed for the 2012-2013 Navigator ( same mirror ) #17D742
Buy 2013 Lincoln Navigator Parts | FordParts.com Tasca should have them too. Matt |
Thank you Matt. I looked and looked on that site but couldn't find them. I wonder what the R&R process is and whether it can be done on the car. Almost looks like it's retained by a single bolt accessible via the bottom mirror light
|
Johnkn, are you saying you still couldn't find them even after the link I sent or when you looked before ???:-huh
Send me a PM with your email and I will send you the directions for removing the mirror caps. Matt |
No, no, I ...had... looked all over that site without success. I found them with your PN. Now trying to understand the R&R process.
thanks again. |
The mirror glass has to be removed first, then you will see the 4 retaining tabs that need to be released. No bolts.
