EGR pressure valve/sensor
this sensor is by the throttle cable and it has two hoses that connect to the metal pipe on the left of the intake manifold.. what is this for? i checked mine and mine didnt have any thing on it at all and it was just throwing hot exhaust gas out and it burnt through a vac line, and 2 spark plugs..
is exhaust gas supposed to be coming out of the two pipes..? because it melted the sensor..
That's the DPFE EGR sensor and those tubes are supposed to be connected to the EGR tube.
HOT exhaust fumes should be going from the egr tubes to the sensor right
Is it supposed to be hot because it melted the sensor
There's a metal tube from your exhaust manifold to the EGR. Off of that, there should be two smaller metal tubes that the hoses from the DPFE attach to. Of course the metal EGR tube will be hot, but the rubber lines that go to the DPFE won't be hot enough to melt the DPFE.

So to be clear, it's hot? :)

well it melted my sensor.. so this is the conclusion i've came to tell me what you all think.. Sensor melted, constantly blowing header gaskets, exhaust tone coming from intake, loss of sound out of muffler, and poor gas mileage.. I'm thinkking my cat might be plugged.. I dont need it for emissions i put it on for 2 reasons 1) to deepen the exhaust tone and 2) to add a little backpressure... i have a dynomax bullet muffler which is basically a short glasspack.. everything is 3 in

The noise in your intake may be caused by the EGR tube that feeds your DPFE sensor. |
Thought fords needed some back pressure and that it give some low eng torque.. Also would removing y cat be a good idea then since it could be closgged
I thought you mentioned elsewhere that the cat was new? Unless you got a complete pile of crap converter, it shouldn't be clogged.
Check the EGR tube and make sure it's not leaking. Also, post a pic of the sensor and tube. |
Yah but some of the exhuast gasket broke off and fell in the pipes as some egr stuff is gone and all smog is.. So it could just clog.. I'm also yet to figure out how to post pics.. I'm debating just sawzawing the cat off today and seeing if that helps.. I dont know what else could cause that loss of sound and power Ra gotta be backed up
