engine knock?

Ok having a problem my engine sounds lik there's a knock when I'm accelerating it stops after I get to around 50-55 it sounds like its coming from the right side of the cab and I can definitely feel the knock in the gas pedal. Any ideas on what it would be would be helpful!

Can you make it " knock " sitting still ? Brake torque ? Accelerating in neutral ? If not , ck drive line , u joints , mounts , exaust . I had a noise drive me crazy for about a day , before I found a green Black Walnut stuck between the cab and the bed ! I swore it was in the exaust hangers or pipes . Sounds can travel .

Oh , ck cab mounts also , they can let the cab fall and cause all kinds of complaints .

I haven't tried that yet ik jus sitting the engine sound fine ivI've thought about checking the exhaust manifold to see if its rusted out what in the engine could cause the knock?

Because it seems to be related to the speed of your truck , not engine speed ,I think it may not be engine related . That is why I ask if you can reproduce the "knock" while stationary . On the other hand , many components can cause a knocking sound .

Oh ok you don't think it could be tranny related do you?? Maybe its first or second gear that's knocking somewhere??

I think the advice is good, one option might be to take it to a smog test station if you have one local. They often have a wheel cart and could put it in motion sitting still so to speak. If the driveline is the issue. It would be easy to hear/see safely. Provided you stay away from reciprocating parts!! Listen with a stethoscope and extension if needed. If due to suspension or ? in front it would be absent, and it doesn't seem as that would be the case as explained.

Just so happens I have a Hino in the shop right now . It is a wrecker , rollback ,. It has a noise in the mixer . Mixers do not usually cause your complaint . Not what you describe , but possible .:-X19 I would look further into the drive train for the knock . Less likely the mixer than other issues .:)
