pulsating brake pedal
when braking i would feel the pedal pulsating...figured the pads were finished. checked them out and they were not in that great a shape so i changed them all around. I'm still getting a pulsating feeling in the brake pedal....u guys think i just need to bleed them or are the discs warn or warped or something ? thanks

warped rotors. have them turned or replace them.

New rotors and pad do wonders for brake feel.
The hint of the day is 'do not' over tighten the front discs. It can put a wavey distortion in them that will be temperature sensitive and drive you nuts wondering what's going on, at different times. If left like that long enough , the discs won't recover from a wear pattern by retorqueing. Good luck. |
Probably a stuck piston in the caliper also. Everything U ever heard bad about disc brakes is started with sticky caliper pistons. These are usually brought about by a hole to the boot seal. When U got a truck 10 years old, 100,000 miles, save UR selves a lot of grief.

ok thanks.... how could one over tighten front discs ??? do you mean caliper ? or am i not getting something ? :-huh

He means over torqueing the wheel lug bolts. If your brake pedal is pulsating do what Shooter said and turn or replace the rotors.

thanks , will do. yeah lug nuts are to specs. Thanks again

HI Mike, we have some great prices on rotors if you need them. Here's a link to them on our website if you want to see what we have. Tony

I broke two studs off getting a tire off my truck, with the spare on I had a bad vibe getting to town to get a few new studs. Went away when i replaced them.
BTW. the pricing on studs is variable. Ford sold me the only one in stock for 6 bucks, the Parts Source store nailed me for 23 fun tickets! WTF? |
