Very impressive repair job on that cab! If you don't mind sharing, what did you pay for it in that condition?

Dorsai 03-05-2013 10:05 AM

I was going to make the required "it'll buff right out" joke when I saw the first pics...but darned if it just about did! Nice save.

$400 with the new windshield, back glass, banged door and wheels i have less than $900 in the truck

Bravo! And, welcome to the forum!

Heck man, make it pretty again! For $900 bucks, compare that to the cost of a new truck! You could find a good cab and a good bed and have it painted and it'd look like new.

Do you have any better pics of the work you did to bend the cab back in shape? That was an impressive job, and I assumed you were just going to stick a new cab back on it.

How did you get the windshield to seal right?

Nah the pics i posted is all i have of the work i was doing the work solo and was trying not to waste time on my day off lol, but i used a porta power jack http://cdn.dealsdirect.net/m/product...duct1_8391.jpg like this one and a hammer. and as for the windshield when the glass man showed up it took some work to get the frame close and more than normal amount of urethane it still has a small leak during a heavy rain nothing some silicone wont fix though.

Ive been looking into buying a new cab and bed but around here in Eastern KY everything is a rust bucket

Nice work on saving that truck. Same truck as mine, but mine is blue. What year truck did the seat come from?

I have no idea i think it was around a 90 F250, I work at Napa Auto Parts and i had a regular customer come in and give it to me out of a truck he bought for parts

Can't beat that, it looks pretty comfortable and in very good condition. I hope to find a nice one from a newer model myself, with the headrests like yours.

Holler at me big D, if you need parts...

I can get them pretty fast an cheap too.

On a decent day you have off, you can bring the truck up an we'll get to work on it... That truck can be rescued even further man...

Even f you decided to get another cab/bed, get all the paint done, then toss it on the frame. Still a TON cheaper than even just a newer truck.

c'mon, Wesley, one doesn't toss a freshly-painted (or any other, for that matter) body onto a frame.... :-blah

Ok, ya got me...

We shall BOLT it onto a completely re-done chassis, with all new polyurethane bushings, shocks, and the entire thing will be POR-15'd

New Poly mounts shall hold the cab and bed on securely with grade 10.5 bolts.

Much better?:D
