1960 f100/292 yblock/Fordomatic
I have a 1960 f100 with a 292 and factory fordomatic as stated in the title. I have the shift rod but cant seem to find the kick down or "TV" rod. Where can I find one? Anyone here have one? Are the the rods from a car the same?

My '58 and my dad's '55 both have a Fordomatic.
But I don't know if the cars kickdown was the same or different from the trucks. Sorry I don't have an extra one either:( All I have are pictures of mine if you want to refer to it. |

These are the only pics I could find of the kickdown in my large inventory of pictures. I can get a few better ones when I go to work on it the next time.

Yeah that looks just like mine. Now I just need to hunt down the kickdown
Because that one is the kickdown linkage. You will then need the shifter linkage. Are the rods from a car the same? No. Applications: 1957/58 F250/350 272/292 / 1957/59 F100 272/292 / 1960 F100 292 before 5/23/1960. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- COTT-7A187-A .. Kickdown Rod-19 11/16" developed length / Obsolete Application: 1960 F100 292 from 5/23/1960. No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any. What's correct, what ain't? The 1957/63 Ford Truck Parts Catalog is available on a CD from hipoparts.com |

What state has more Ford trucks in junkyards besides CA? I doubt any do. You cannot expect, when you own an old rolling pile of miseries (especially one 53 years old), that parts will be readily available. So you have to go out and beat the bushes. I've owned 60 Packards and never had a problem finding a part. Why? Because "I got up off it and searched." |
