315-75-16 Terra grappler?
 

I need new tires. I found the Nitto Terra Grappler 315-75-16 . Does anyone have this tire this size? Do they last long? Are they quiet? Are they good for heavy towing? Thanks

I have them in 285s; they replaced the stock Firestones. Noise and longevity are subjective but I am very happy with them.

As long as you get Load Range E you should have no problems with towing.

I have them, I couldn't find them in an E but with SRW the load rating (~3200 IIRC)was on par with the axle ratings. But I don't tow very heavy either(Under 20,000 GCVW) most of the time.

Noise was quiet, wear is fair, but could be better.

I have them in 295/75x16 and love them, need new after about 6 years, planning on getting the same tire again come spring.(currently have studded tires on the truck for winter)

I had 35x12.50x16 Terra Grapplers and I only got around 20,000 miles out of them. I don't remember what the load range on those were and I did skip 1 or 2 rotate and balance visits, but they still shouldn't have given up ghost that quick IMO.

Not sure on price difference, but I would look into Toyo's, myself and many others have had exceptional luck with them. My last set of M/T's 37x13.50x18 went 50,000 miles and still had tread left. I swapped them out to drop a tire size.

I had a set in that size. Noise was ok when new, but they got louder as they wore. Longevity was crap. They are a good riding, high traction compound....but they wore out much too quickly for my taste. Got maybe 30,000 out of them.

I had bought a set of OEM wheels from a member on here and they had set of 305s terra grapplers on the wheels. Didn't have much tread left but enough to give me time to look for a new set. There were a little noisy for my taste but not MT loud. After weeks of reading reviews and threads on here, I narrowed my choice down to the Firestone Destination A/Ts, Bridgestone Revo 2s, and the yokohama geolanders. I went with Firestone Destination A/Ts in 285/75/16 and couldn't be happier. Not highway tread but not aggressive. Super quiet...I don't hear anything on the road except for the wind noise and they ride extremely smooth. Took almost no weight to balance them. Great traction on wet pavements. Haven't had deep snow yet, but in light snow they did great.

I looked at the Firestone destination AT today. $1046.00 mounted and ballanced out the door. E rated 10 ply. Most all 315-75-16 are D rated 8 ply. Sounds like a fair price.

If you have a firestone dealer nearby, check to see if they have any rebates going on. They run them every so often. Just check online to find one of their stores. Back in November I paid roughly $850 mounted and balanced with the rebate for a set of 285/75/16s

On my second set of these. No complaints. On track to get at least 50kto out if these. They ARE NOT loud. Good traction on snow and ice even though some say otherwise. Mine are E rated but they are also a different size. Can't complain for the price.

Here's the catch with the Nitto Terra Grapplers: they don't usually come with some sort of tread warranty. That goes to show you how long they think their tire will last.

The Firestone Destination ATs are good choice if you spend most of your time on the pavement with an adventure off the pavement every now and again. These tires offer less rolling resistance so they should net you some decent fuel economy.

I've run the BFG All-Terrains in 315/75/16 for the past 5, going on 6 years and haven't had a problem with a set at all. I drive alot, but usually get the 50K they advertise and then some. They haven't let me down on road, off road, and even towing. Should you decide to get a set, you won't be disasppointed.

Just got a set of the Terra Grapplers in 315/75/16's. I have now had Firestone Destinations in 305's and they sucked in snow and rain. I had the Destination AT II's in the 315's they sucked even worse. The last set were the Yokohama Geolander 315's in a D rated tire and they were the best in the rain and snow of anything I have had so far. They did not last tremendously long though, but I am not a big rotator so I know I shortened the life of them considerably.

I went with these Terra Grapplers because I could get them in an E, they had the a more aggressive looking tread that I really liked, and my mechanic has had them on his lifted Expedition for over 20,000 miles and they still look great. He says he really likes them in the rain and snow and his being on an Expy with that front end, if they last long on that front end they should do well on ours. I plow and tow a good deal and will see how they do.

I am on my second set. I got over 50 out of the first. I don't have any complaints in any conditions. I pulled my 15k dump trailer through the mud at the duo yesterday. For ATs they are great.
