A/C making noise when turned on
 

This would happen to me on my old '00 Ranger, but now I have a '03 Ranger that is 5 weeks old, and when you start the truck up, and turn the A/C on, it makes a loud noise under the hood. Almost sounds like something is grinding or whatever. Any idea on what this could be, or have it happen to you.

Well, is the noise more of a screech (like bad brakes) or more like a grrrrrrrrrr.... noise!!:)

Hmmmmm.... When the A/C cluth went out on my truck, it made a screeching noise!! Maybe it's not your A/c compressor!!! Are you sure it's not a water pump or fan clutch???:(

I hope not, the truck is only 5 weeks old. It also made the same noise on my 2000 Ranger.

Well, it's probably still under warranty. Correct? I would just take it to the dealership and let them figure it out!!:)
