7.3L Fuel Alt w/out adding tanks or parts??

I am sick of spending 600+ a month on gas. I want to find a cheap alternative without having to add a seperate fuel tank or change all my fuel system parts. Since I work with Aircraft and use it in Naval diesel trucks, can my 2001 F250 7.3 run on JP8 Aircraft fuel and if so does it pose any cons? Will it ruin my truck over time?? Is it possible and what are the downsides??? Any help would be much appreciated.:-X06

My understanding is that JP8 doesn't have enough lubricity on its own. A friend who runs that or JetA, on occasion, will blend it with 5%-10% biodiesel. He's done just fine with that. Pretty strong smelling fuel though.

Would mixing regular diesel have the same affect as bio-diesel??

Probably not enough. Bear in mind that ever since ULSD replaced LSD, many people use lubricity additives to make up for the loss. Not that it is entirely necessary, in my opinion. Supposedly sufficient lubricity additives are added to ULSD to compensate for the reduced sulphur.

So if you blend with JP8, you're reducing lubricity in the ULSD which is already at minimum levels for the 7.3.

By adding just 2.5% biodiesel to ULSD, the increase in lubricity far exceeds any additive you can buy.
