Changing out a steering column

This is my first post of what I am sure will be many. I recently purchased a 1965 F100 step side. The previous owner put on a small steering wheel that I hate. I am speaking with a guy that is selling a steering column form a 1969 F100 to include the steering wheel. It is still in his truck. My question is will it transfer over to my 65? They are both manual steering with three on the tree and the same engine size. If it will work, where should I ask him to disconnect at? What am I going to need from his truck? I have tried to search the forum and from what I have found it looks like it will work but I wanted to ask the experts.
Thanks in advance.
Russ

Welcome to FTE

Change the wheel only, 1969 column is a different length.

Same 3 spoke steering wheel, reproduced by Dennis Carpenter in black only:

1960/63 Falcon/Comet / 1961/66 F100/250 2WD / 1966 F100 4WD / 1966/73 Bronco / 1967/69 F100/250 2WD/4WD / 1969/70 F350.

Horn button or horn ring same applications except for Bronco.
