F250 - tire size for cabover?

I just picked up a set of Aluminum wheels from a 1988 F250SD, with
LT 235/85 R16 tires on them. Will these work on my truck? Since i am carrying a cabover camper will these handle the weight?. and finally, What would be a good size tire to run with a cabover?.
I am currently running 9.5 X 16.5 and like the size - What is the equivelent present day size.

If my memory is correct, that tires max weight is 3025 lbs when inflated to max air pressure (80 PSI). Have you weighed your truck to see what your actual axle weights are?

In addition to axle weights don't forget about your trucks MVWR. Good luck.

They'll be fine for the weight. Do you have sway bars? If not you might look into them. It was, by far, the best mod I ever did on my truck with a cabover camper. The 235 16s are taller than the 9.50s and have a higher load. They're load range E right?

I had the white steel spoke wheels on 15x11 with 32" tires on my rig and the rims kept cracking the rears, they were good for about 5-6 yrs. Then bought some new Eagle Alloys 16x7.5" eagle rims that were rated for like 3400 lbs with Lt 265 D=32"-+ tires to handle the weight of the camper. You may want to find your rim online and see what it's weight rating is. for your peace of mind! my 2cents ..orich
