1998 NASCAR Ride Height
After seeing many discussions about the actual amount a NASCAR was lowered, I finally got hold of a 1998 truck factory service manual and found the following -
Vehicle Ride Height - F-150 4x2 Front - Regular Cab - 114mm +/- 20mm (4.5 in. +/- 0.8 in.) Front - NASCAR ------ 63.4mm +/- 20mm (2.5 in. +/- 0.8 in.) Rear -- Regular Cab - 153mm - 215mm (6.0 in. - 8.5 in.) Rear -- NASCAR ------ 118mm +/- 20mm (4.6 in. +/- 0.8 in.) A - Front Ride height is determined by measuring from the bottom part of the spindle (inner most part) where the ball joint stud come thru to the ground. B - Then measure from the center of the lower control arm inner pivot to the ground. C - Subtract Measurement A from Measurement B to obtain Ride Height. Rear Ride height is a little easier. On the inside edge of the bumpstop there is a small lip. Measure from the tip of this lip to the top of the axle tube. This measurement is the rear ride height. |
