can use any insite need help!! 6.0 wont start f350

so my buddy had his f350 towed over after it dies on him. wont start just cranks. the oil filter bowl fills up so the base oil pump is working. the ipr is working properly. we installed a new hpop after finding a leak. we aired up the system and there are no leaks, i listened with a stethascope. if i pull the icp and crank it no oil even comes out. there should be 500+ psi of oil and i cant get a dribble. the dummy guage on the dash doesent move either after a good 10 second crank. am i missing something really simple or is this thing junk. 2005 f350 6.0.
new hpop
ipr works
base oil pump works
no hpo leaks
yet there is no hi pressure oil WHATS WRONG PLEASE HELP.

According to my AllData, the problem may be in the IPR or it's wiring. To quote "The IPR controls the injection oil pressure. An electrical signal to a solenoid creates a magnetic field which applies a variable force on a valve servo to control the pressure. The quantity of fuel delivered to the combustion chamber is proportional to the injection control pressure.

An open circuit results in minimal oil pressure and a no-start situation. A short to ground in a circuit results in maximum oil pressure, limited by a mechanical pop-off valve to 27,580 kPa (4000 psi)."

The other possibility is the high pressure oil pump has failed. The fact that the dash gauge doesn't move would point to a low pressure pump issue. Have you tried a mechanical gauge on the low pressure? While you are trying to fix the problem, if you pull the glow plugs, it will crank faster.

Probably going to have better luck w/ a response to this down in the 6.0 forum. 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
