looks like batteries and ficm are going out
Ford FICM Cutoff is 40 volts IIRC (Maybe 42volts cutoff)
the batterys didnt Look to Bad but Hard to tell looking at Voltage If you have the Old Fashion Water Batterys the Best way I have found to test them at Home is a Battery Hydrometer and Test Each Cell My Batterys Looked Good Voltage wise But Hydro test Failed A Fulley charged Battery should Read 12.68volts Keep in mind .10-.20volts less at OBDII Port Clean cables and Grounds see if that helps the FICM Volts any worth a shot IDK But Next time you take Sensor Values do this KOEO Low Idel (Truck Idel on its Own) High Idel (2500 Rpm) I have Ford Operating Values for these 3 Above All in Park or Nuetral Also check FICM Voltage Under LOAD say 55mph++ WOT up a Hill Take FICM Voltage Again |
Check it going up the Vallejo Grade. I bet you :-X16see 32 V at the top

yes your are right , those first ones are the second are at operating between 1,950rpm , I had set the gauge to those and seen the changes when driving , I hit the alta mont pass this morning and back no load fmp43/45.5 down in the flats same rpm 48/48.5 that plus the other readings got me thinking NO WORRIED.
Just keep your foot out of it, no hurry but you need to call Ed.
Thanks fal 308, do you think the alt volts look ok seems like Ive been reading alot about the alts going out its the same alt sence 04 ,but batts are 1 yr old,if I do replace seems that benny likes the DC thats what will go back in
Alt looks OK, mines 6 yrs. Old. Bench test is free.
I did not know that the FICM could drop going uphill.
Anything under 45V indicates a toasted FICM.

Ok, I took my truck to the local Ac delco shop just to check myself and the scangauge mostly, what we found was that the ALT is going out, charging at 11.6 and lo Idiol was 12.1 even thou it went up to 14./14.1 at the most too low . the unit is 110 amp from stock , now back to the ficm It never made it to 48.0 , 38/35.some cases 33 mostly 46.5, SOOOO, what goes first? Batteries are up to full charge according to the techs machine and the scan gauge .
Alt then Batts' then FICM

Our weather is not much diff from yers over the other side of the hills now. tomarrow will be as benny noted clean batt posts, Ed will be called for the ficm per your as noted . and both will be replaced. now 110/115 amp alt that ford put in I dont have big stereo, campers, just horse trailer and some dump/car trailers.is the DC190 amp really nessary, and put the $ into the FICM? not forgetting the Batteries? Thanks for your help guys.
