? For E-fuel guys

Anyone running a heater in their water fuel seperator. I'm running cat filters with napa filter heads. I know napa has one but the one I found was like $250. WTH. I know when I was doin the project napa had one for like $60. So I might go with this one.
OBS Electric Fuel System - PowerStrokeArmy
Any thoughts or concerns with installing. Just splice into the fuel pump wires and add a bigger fuse??

You really don't need one specially in Cali a lot of guys unplug their heater with the mech pump and bowl anyway so with e-fuel I would waste the money

I'll be moving back up to Washington state soon… I hope. Once I hear back from this job. It get pretty dang cold there. I remember growing up seeing -12. So it gets pretty cold and I wanna be prepared. Your right Cali just doesn't get cold enough for the need of one.

I've looked around and done a lot of research on these and getting a heater for a filter won't do much good if its gelled up in the tank

It doesn't really get cold enough except in alaska for a fuel bowl heater.

Would I use one given the chance? Yes.

Would I go out of my way to get one? No.

Is it necessary? 95% of the time, no.

Will any of us here see that other 5%? I highly doubt it, ever.

My fuel bowl heater went out over 10 years ago. I never replaced it as it seems the glow plugs get more juice with it disconnected. Where I live we stay in the BELOWs for about 3 months of the year. -30* on average for lows in cold years and I have seen it as low as -42*. Never had a problem with not having a fuel heater element working but we always have winter mix diesel in this climate for 6 months of the year.
