HPOP Issue?

ok, been fighting an oil leak in the valley for some time now. Repairs to date:
1) New HOP lines
2) New pedestal/turbo o-rings
3) New IPR

Will wash out valley and watch for leaks. will be leak free for a while then all of a sudden bam...oil in valley. So two questions.

1) what are the HPOP pressures above idle to say 2500 rpm?
2) is there anyway to pressure the HPO system while the engines off?

My theory is I only have a HPOP leak when Im in the upper pressure ranges. at idle i dont see a leak from the usual suspects and I dont see a trail back to where its coming from.

I do not have a scaner or AE.

A scanner won't help you find an oil leak. HPOP pressure varies by the load on the engine more than the RPM. You'll generally see around 500 psi at idle, and up to 3,000 psi under full load.

I'd clean the valley out, then stuff a couple of white rags down there to divide the valley into sections. See which rag gets oil on it first. Maybe even tie strips of a rag around the ends of the hpop lines where they go into the head to isolate those.

If you're leak seems to be related to the temperature, check the EBPV for leaks around the actuator rod. That's a fairly common leak. You could unplug the EBP at the base of the turbo pedestal to fix that leak.

gutted EBPV stuff when I did the turbo rebuld. will do the rag trick
