Thanks to you guys!! Truck made first short trip today...

Hello folks! Just thought I'd update everyone on my trucks status. As y’all know I've been round and round with it. As of today I took it on its longest trip to date. That’s 15 or so miles to Sonic for lunch. It ran very good I must say. No leaks as of now but I will surely keep an eye out. I ended up using a fitting from Napa that self taps into the carb fuel inlet but it has the female fitting for 5/16” tubing (inverted flare) on the other end.
NAPA AUTO PARTS

I also made me a hard line from the new fuel pump to the carb. For now I snugged up that bungy cord on the hood and kept it under 50 mph. Maybe now I can finish polishing the wood for the bed and put it in!!

O yeah, got my SS trim rings in and they are great quality. The way that they attach, not only do I feel that they will never fall off, I don't think I could take them off if I wanted to. The baby moons they sent are potentially the wrong ones. I got the 10 1/8” but after talking with them again they told me they think they should have sent me the 10 1/4”. I have the 4 outies. They must be the way outies.

I'd like to thank all you guys for putting up with all my frustration as I got all these bugs (so far) worked out. I slapped myself “up side the head” a few times for each of you that wanted to so I hope that will do for ya...lol.

Snapped a quick but low quality pic sitting at Sonic.

Well done! Encouragement for the rest of us whose project is creeping along in the garage. It can be done!

I am so jealous! Nice looking truck Wayne. love seeing these beasts on the road. I finally started wiring this morning, so i'm still a bit behind.

Thatt'll do!
Good job getting out on the road. looks great. Funny that you mention the bungy cord holding the hood down, that must be a 48-50 thing? the 50 f-1 I picked up recently has the same issue. :-X04 Im using a blue bungy to match the paint :p

I've got to get me one of those carb fuel inlet fittings.

Cheers

Josh

Topmoo - Most definitely! One good story leads to another. That's the way it should be.

Wayne - Reps to you for inspiration of the day.

My first trip out of the neighborhood was to go to a club cruise in. It was about 25 miles from my house. Folks asked me when I got it running and how may miles on it so far. I told them thursday and from my house to here.
