I beleive this is the 44 LP correct? If so are they as good as the HP or should I keep looking for the HP?

The HP is a lot more desirable and I think stronger as well.

thats what i have been looking for but can't find one. This is the LP right? just wanted to make sure this is no the HP and I didn't think it was.

hp puts the pinion above axle centerline and lp puts it below centerline. thats clearly lp.

definitely low pinion. Low pinion is supposedly weaker on a front axle, and stronger on a rear axle, because of the way they turn. But the main reason people like the high pinion front axles are because first off, it gives you way better angles on the short front shaft, and second, it gets the pinion up off the ground. On a low pinion front axle the pinion is one of the lowest spots on the truck so its common to damage the pinion/ujoint/shaft area on rocks and stumps.

It depends on what you are doing, but the high pinion 44's aren't that hard to find, are relatively inexpensive, and are probably worth holding out for. But if the LP is free and meets yours needs then by all means go for it.

I am unable to find a HP here in Vegas for less than $8-900. I wont pay that much. This LP is up in Utah and not to far away but its not what i want. I will wait for the HP. Thanks for the Info

Those are HP60 prices! i'm not familiar with the Vegas market but a HP44 shouldn't be anymore than $200

That's foolish, I paid $40 for a HP44 that has the welded on wedges with everything right out to the tires and a few weeks later was given another fully complete HP44 with cast wedges for free.

I have a HP dana 44, everything works great, needs ball joints. I'd sell it for $250. but I'm not sure what shipping would be.

I guess it would depend on shipping. I keep looking around here also. If you feel up to is see what it would cost to ship to 89032. I might be able to get a loading dock also.

I don't blame you. I'm asking fair price for local pick up. I'll check on shippig tonight, I'll have to guess at weight though. What sucks is I was out in Utah for Army training about 2 months ago.

if you needed a coil one, I could do it cheaper.
