Arizona Car Show Cardinal Stadium 4 slicks

Met up with Eric & Kevin and drove to the Arizona Cardinal's stadium for a car show. One other slick including our 3.

Just some random pics from the show. Not slicks but thought some would enjoy the selection.

I heard a number of 1000 cars that showed up.

Did not hang around for awards. . . .

Sorry about pic quality. My camera was not sure what to do in such bright sunlight.
Last pic is leaving stadium with Eric up front.

So we had a 1964 (Kevin) My 1965 & Eric's 1966 plus the other 64 (SB chev powered)

That was one big flock of pics! Some really nice vehicles! Sounds like a fun time having the slicks together! I am normally a stock kind of guy but that customized "bump-side", is awsome!

gangstakr 10-27-2012 08:05 PM

Nice pictures. Yeah that "Bump" looked real nice. As did the slicks.
I attended a local show at my daughters School/Church it was small in comparison to what you went to. Weather today was very nice for a show. Picked up a trophy for "Best Truck"

So many I'd like to comment on....
Thanks for the nice pics. :-X22

Nice Photos Randy.... Thanks!

Henry J has got to be my favorite one

bertha66 10-28-2012 09:59 AM

Great shots, I liked the 61 Sunliner.

azhoser 10-28-2012 03:01 PM

Love the pics, wish you had more pics of the F100s, outsides, insides. Thanks!

It's a hardtop, so it's a Starliner. A Sunliner is a convertible.

Under a license agreement in 1952 with Kaiser-Frazer, the Henry J was sold by Sears as the "Allstate." Had different badging and plaid 'Sure Fit' seat covers, only 1,502 were sold.

Don't see too many 1963 Studebaker "Wagonaire's" these days, the sliding roof leaked like a sieve, most of the 1963/66 wagons that came with this option, rusted out decades ago.

Henry J was cool and brought back some old memories. The Woody was my favorite and is on my desktop for now. And yes Bill the Wagonair may be the only one left out there.

I would post my pics but they probably appear to be about the same as yours. It seems that we have the same tastes in the type of vehicles that we like.
Rich's 64 won an award at the show.
My truck is a 63, not a 64, with a 64 bed on it.
I never did hear a final number on the amount of vehicles but it was a lot. They announced that they are considering doing a 2 day show next year. If they do that, they will have to get a different venue. The grass was too small as you saw when they had cars out in the asphalt parking lot away from the rest of the cars.

It's a 1949 Ford, you can tell by FORD letters on hood (1950 has an emblem), teardrop parklamps on ends of grille (1950 has square parklamps below headlamps), real wood lower tailgate (1950 is metal with wood grain 'painted on').

1951 has a different grille with two "spinners," hood ornament, headlamp doors.

A pal a mine in the Studebaker Club has 6 prewar Studies, thought it would be 'neat' to own a Wagonaire. I warned her beforehand, but she bought it anyway.

It looked OK, but she soon found out looks can be deceiving. The entire floor pan resembled swiss cheese, the spare tire well was non existant, the bottom of the tailgate was rusted out.

Fuel tank was held on with bailing wire. She ended up selling the engine/trans, the rest of it went to Valhalla.

For yours?!?! OUTSTANDING!!! :-drink Congrats!!
I have to say, I do really miss the car shows, when we lived down in the OC, you could find one or 2 almost every weekend, and I did prefer the smaller ones, cause you could actually SEE all the cars, and have time to look,,, but then again, the Pismo Classic is full of beautiful stuff, and cars too!! ;)

Nice pics, Thanks for sharing!

Kevin

Gettin' old with a bit of brain fade . . .

so 63, 64, 65 & 66 Slicks were represented at this show!

I only saw the one bump side which was decent.

I cannot be on my feet for very long periods so just made a quick pass thru taking pics along the way what I was interested in and some stuff you just do not see every day. Wish I could have spent more time taking better detailed shots and getting my camera settings where I could have gotten better pics.

Maybe Kevin will post some of his . . .

Things I thought I took pics of I did not. A lot of neat stuff at the show just a cluster trying to get in. But overall a very good show with a good mixture of what one would want to see.

Pics came out great Randy! I paid that night with quite a sun burn. :(
