96 F-250 OBD-II?

Am I correct that my 96 F-250 should have OBD-II? I looked for the port, but didn't see it. Where would it be on that truck?

Also, has anyone been able to use the Bluetooth dongle and TorquePro on an Andriod for a truck this old?

OBD 1 even my 97 is a one. the 150's changed but the HD's never did.
(unless someone has done some serious work to your truck)

250/350 OBS trucks were exempt from OBD-II standards, unless it was a California or Massachusetts truck.

No wonder why my 96 is so reliable!

Your 96 F-250 will be OBDI, the connector for checking the codes is by the drivers side (left) hood hinge.. Go here to find out how to check for DTC codes without a code reader.. Fuel Injection Technical Library » How To Run a Self-Test , if you want to get a code reader the Equus 3145 is a very good one and it only runs about $25 - $30..Equus 3145 Ford Digital Code Reader : Amazon.com : Automotive

Be very careful with that statement above. Lead Head is correct, the California emission trucks with 7.5L engines (<15,000 lb. GVW) were OBD-II starting in 1996. I know Massachusetts is pretty stringent on their emission requirements as well, but I have no documentation they were OBD-II as well.

Didn't we just do this?

Sure did! Every couple of months the subject comes up. For those of us with CRS (Can't Remember Squat) it's a nice review }>

Should there be several stickers on the truck that states which system
Each truck has?

At the very least the VECI label would indicate which control system the vehicle is using.

I guess I was getting ahead of myself, since he said he didn't find an OBDII connector then there WAS a very good chance it was OBDI....

I'll just shut the hell up and leave it to the pros!!!!

I know what would make you feel better: go to Conanski and ask him to hit you on the head with the hammer he uses on me. My head, by this time, has made a nice, flat spot in that hammer so you shouldn't feel much pain but, for some reason, when he does this the world is right again, everything is puppies, unicorns, and rainbows.

I'd rather have these lumps than be wrong the rest of my life

I usually learn something new here everyday. :-jammin

No reason to sit in the corner, keep doing what you are doing!

Massachusetts adopted California emissions in around '94 I believe.

There are also some other exceptions/oddities. For example, the 1994.5-1995 7.3 PSD trucks have both the EEC-IV test port under the hood, and an OBD-II port inside - but it doesn't work from the factory. You need to have it flashed to enable OBD-II functionality.
