Tail light fuse?
Wondering if anyone knows which fuse it for the tail lights? My brake lights work but not the tails. The dealer just fixed all the recalls on my truck and I'm wondering if that could have caused this issue. Pretty sure they were working before that.

Bump. Anybody?

Without an owners manual I wouldn't know. But to find ANY blow ato mini maxi or glass fuses, I use my test light. Clip it to a good ground, turn the ignition key to the on position, and touch the two metal tabs on the back of each individual fuse. Each fuse has two exposed metal tabs on their backs, touch the test light to each one, the test light should light on both tabs, if it lights on one side only, you found your blown fuse. There are a handful of fuses that won't light on either side, these will only have power during cranking. These are not taillight fuses. Good luck!

It's also possible that the taillight element in each bulb has burned out, don't rule that out either.
|
It ended up being the bulb. There was a little bubble like the plastic had melted on the base of both bulbs. That's very strange.

Strange indeed. Those are LEDs too right? Did you get a pic?

hmmmm? What recalls? Do those lights have resistors built in, I didn't check before I installed mine.
|
I don't recall if the lights have resistors. I'll have to check on the recalls, they said there were a few. I read on another thread that this happened to someone I just can't find where I read it now.
