It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ghtsafter1.jpg

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

You want to find a complete set of mounts from a '73-'79 F series with a 460 assuming you have a 2x4. It is a bolt in with factory parts. Headers from the same truck should work as well. Same for the trans mount. You will need to move your trans crossmember back & drill new mount holes.

The 460 Ford mounts show up on ebay once in a while. Assuming your deal is a 2 wheel drive truck 75-79? With the Ford mounts this is a bolt in deal. You will need the towers (bolt to the crossmember) The motor mounts (cross bolt type) and the cups that bolt to the block. Usually this stuff goes for about 100 bucks or less on ebay. I use truck or motor home exhaust manifolds plenty big enough and less problems than headers. IMHO!

460: 1973/76 F100/350 / 1977/79 F150/350.

With the Ford mounts this is a bolt in deal. You will need the towers-bolt to the crossmember (D3TZ-6028-A Right D3TZ-6029-A Left) The motor mounts aka rubber insulators (D3TZ-6038-A Right/Left same).

The cups (D3TZ-6030-A Right D3TZ-6031-A Left) that bolt to the block. Rubber insulators bolt to these, then to the towers aka supports, perches, stands.

And....

D3TZ-6A023-A .. Rear Engine Mount Support aka cross member-bolts on / Same as 1973/76 F100/250 360/390 2WD & F350.

D3TZ-6068-C .. Rear Engine Mount Rubber Insulator.

If you're interested, I have some used headers. Actually two sets, one regular length, one long. PM me if interested, I can send pics and we can work out $ and shipping. I did this swap years ago, no regrets. Not that the FE isn't a great motor, but this is such a nice package.

tuffnufly81 10-20-2012 06:07 PM

LMC has a complete motor swap mounting kit for 61-66 F100 for 429 and 460. I have ordered these since I could not find the perches from a 73-79 F250. I will let you know how these turn out. They are not stock of course.

pm042070 10-21-2012 07:18 PM

I did this swap on my 1966 F250 2WD a few years back and it has worked out very well. I bought the perches and motor mounts from JEGS. I also had to upgrade the front coil springs and install heavy duty shocks to allow the front tires to align correctly. Headers from Hedman did work ok with slight modifications. With A/C from classic auto air it takes 3 electric fans on a 4 row radiator to cool the 460 engine with a C6 transmission and it is barely adequate but does do the job. Other than these few modifications everything has worked out pretty well. Your experience may differ. Best of luck to you!

I would recommend upgrading the alternator to a higher amp also if going with electric radiator fans. We so had to fabricate a heat shield for the power steering gear with the Hedman headers but wasn't anything major. Good luck again!
