Sound deading panels

I am wondering if anyone has the sound deadening panels under the drivers side of their Excursion with the power adjustable pedals? :-huh

I tried to fit the one with the following part number YC3Z-78046A25-AA but it doesn't fit without some cutting. I am wondering if there is a different part for mine with the adjustable pedals or did they not make one for it?

I don't have a part number, but my 04 has the insulation on the firewall, and adjustable pedals.

Here is an image of the panel upside down.

If you look right above the pedals you will see a black plastic piece that hides everything above it. You should have a similar one on the passengers side right under the glove box.

Here is what it looks like getting installed but this particular one will not work with adjustable pedals.

My
02 with the adjustable pedals doesn't have the panel.

Tousley parts said they couldn't find anything for my Excursion that were similar to the part number I gave them.

I guess its time to retrofit the ones that are available.

Thanks,
Tim M

Do you mean there is extra insulation on the inside of the cab behind the brake and gas pedals?

You've got it sagging down in the picture. Where is the rub? On the skinny pedal? Yoo did unplug the TPS before trying to install the panel, right?

I'm sorry, I misunderstood your original post. I don't have any insulation above the pedals that I can see. Just the very tight, form fitting insulation on the inside of the firewall. Looking at it, I'd hate to ever have to change it. It must've been put in right after paint.

Did you pull a piece from above the pedals, and are trying to replace it?

That picture is not of my vehicle. I showed it as an example of what the panel looks like. The truck in that picture also does not have adjustable pedals.

Are you talking about the firewall inside the cab or in the engine compartment?

Inside, which looks like a low or medium density foam with a paper board finished surface. On the engine side there's a combination of thin fiber insulation on the outboard areas, and an aluminized insulation over the bellhousing, behind the engine.

Is there any way to see a part number on the inside density foam paper board item?

I can try to look tomorrow, but it's hard to see much of anything with as much stuff as is in the way. I took a quick pic so you can get a general idea of material type and how it's fit. This wraps from under the edge of the carpet, to as high on the firewall as I can see.
