before you ask "how many miles?"

here is a pic of the speedometer of a truck in for a transmission rebuild. as far as I know it is still the original engine, has some blow by but still starts, runs and pulls great.
it is a 2002 F350 crew cab dually western hauler, so realy low gears and a lot of revolutions on that engine

wow it has lasted a long time, how is the rest of the truck? must have been driven every day for the past 10 years to get those miles

helifixer 09-26-2012 07:06 PM

quick math, cruising 60 mph at 2200 rpm that engine has turned 1,359,864,000 revolutions (if I figured it right)
that is a lot of trips up and down for the pistons.
gotta love these engines

the snap ring broke in the forward drum and made carnage out of it.

There are multiple confirmed 1 Million Mile 7.3s.

Sure it is an '02? That doesn't look like the speedo on my '02 F350. Matter of fact, I have a digital (flourescent green digits) odometer.

Regardless, great to see 600K+ on a hard-working rig.

Good catch. 02 should be a digital read out.

That is impressive. Makes me feel pretty good about my littl 185K. Good care really does go a long way!

haha Ford needs to make up their mind... The OBS had digital read outs but then they went back to analog in 99.

Thanks, guess you learn something new everyday

Impressive, I have a friend with three 7.3L, one with 440K, another with 280K or so and a sweet one he just scored with only 38K has maybe 50K now.

That 618K is a lot of driving......seats probably need to be replaced :-)

That's very reassuring to a guy who's ponied up for sticks to make the truck last another 300K.

Km1210 09-27-2012 06:49 AM

Looks like another well cared for 7.3 to me.

And I only have 133k.....I need to drive more.

I have 102,358 on my truck, and that is the most miles I've ever put on any car or truck.
