replaced injectors, truck won't start

New to forum - I replaced injecctors 2 and 8 on my 04 F350 Diesel - business slow and dealer wanted too much for work

replacement went great, but now the truck won't start. Checked all connections and fuses, got info from forum to check FICM, has 48 volts when I turn the key on. looking for some advice. looked on forum for no-start problems, but don't really understand what I am supposed to be looking for, or where.

thank you for your help
Frank

My guess would be you've got air in your lines. I don't have any experience with a truck that new (IDIs are more my speed), but have you gone through the fuel line purge procedure, if there is one?

6.0L Power Stroke Diesel - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums Here is a link to the page for your engine, probably better to ask the guys there.
Good luck.

it can take quite a while for the oil rails to fill up after being off. its not unusual to need to boost the truck before it fires. also check that ALL electrical plugs are plugged back in. miss any one of the sensors and you have a no start.

It is just air in the lines. Can be a little nerve wrecking after spending a bunch of money on injectors to not have it start. Let it crank for 20 seconds and then let the starter cool down for a couple minutes. As stated before, it wouldnt be uncommon to drain a set of batteries before it starts the first time. It may also start a little harder than normal until all of the air is worked out, which will take some hundreds of miles of driving. Good luck!

I have seen on youtube (srmastertech I think) remove the oil filter and fill with about 4 qts that way, then re install the filter and add the rest of the oil in the normal fill tube. According to the video the HPOP will pull oil faster vs letting it come from the pan all the way up. You can also just crank for 10- seconds rest 30 seconds and repeat until it starts. Also, have a good battery charger near by as you will probably drain them by cranking.
