throttle body spacer?

i have a 2002 F250 V10 and some of my buddies have been telling me to get a throttle body spacer and it might add a bit of power and what not. I dont know a whole lot about them and i was hoping someone had some insight as to whether they do any difference or not, and what brand is good.

thanks.

take whateva money the spacer is going to cost you...

go throw it on the road and walk away..

same effect on your truck.

I'd get two. It will double the advertised horsepower gain!

Will help to lighten your wallet. Been there, done that.

All the spacer basically does is make the intake manifold longer. Since the fuel is injected right above the intake valve at the bottom of the intake manifold runners you will get no better fuel atomization or fuel/air volume. For a carburetor or TBI I would fool with spacers. On a FI system like the V10 I would not bother. Put the money towards some custom tuning.
