Opinions on Michelin LTX A/T2 in 285/75/16 Load Range E
 

I am looking to get opinions on this specific tire in this size and load range. Does anybody run this tire on their Excursion and how is it wearing, how does it perform in snow, rain, light mud situations. I have seen reviews of this tire from people on Tire Rack with this tire on an Excursion and they said it wore out in 20k, and then another review from someone who ran them for 60k+. Wondering if the people that wore them out were running D range tires.

Love 'em. Put 'em on my 2005 PSD 4x4 Exc and ran 'em for 30k before my 6.0 puked on me in Missouri and I traded it in for a new F-250 Crew.

Put them on my 2000 X V10 2WD almost 2 years ago, have 30k miles on them and they barely look worn.

Great longevity. Quiet highway ride. Good solid ride. Not great in snow. Good, but not great in rain.

Love 'em. Would buy them again. Pricey tho. $1,200 for set of 4 mounted and balanced. Ouch.

I have Michelin LTX M/S, not the same, but they are great tires but lack in mud and snow performance imo.

Wait...you're saying you have mud+snow tires and they are lacking in mud and snow performance? Good to know.

I LOVED my ATIIs. They were 285/55R20s. Fantastic tire.

I bought a set of falken rocky mountains ats 265/75/16 E ... For $593 from discount tire .. I've put over 29000 all ready on them and they are still at bout 70 to 80 percent ... I cant believe how cheap and great of a tire they are ... I also tow heavy 2 to 3 a month on them ... Put it ride's better when i put 70 psi daily driving and i live in michigan and they were good in bad weather ... At first i was lil worried about how cheap the price was but i tolk my chance and i'm happy with them ...

They are great tires. Got mine from Costco a couple of years ago for $1k out the door. Can't say how they perform on snow or mud. I don't 4 wheel and it doesn't snow where I live. They do ok in the rain.

I live in Quebec, Canada. We get a decent mixture of s*** when it comes to winter driving. The tires just weren't very good at all. I then test drove a similar truck with Goodyear Wrangler Territory's (similar to duratrac) and it was night and day.

The MS does not stand for mud and snow, it stands for multi-surface.

Hmm. I've not seen that before. I thought any of the "M" and "S" designations ("M+S", "M&S", "M/S", etc.) stood for "mud and snow" tires as explained here: Winter Tech - How to Confirm a Winter Performer

Well I dont know what the MS really means anymore because there is no snowflake symbol on the side of my MS2s, which means its NOT met the standards for snow, and you can take one look at the tread and know that they arent going to be any good in the mud. I thought the MS just meant it was an all season or multi season tire. There isnt a better tire for the highways though, wet or dry. I dont even slow down for deep water and I have over 25k on these tires, and they look to have another 50k in them. I am trying to determine if the AT2s can get close to the same wear, with the same performance in the wet, with a little bit better off-road traction.

I purchased 285/75/16 m/s 2's a few months ago. Have put 10,000 miles on them.

Love them....They do ok for mud but not as good as my boggers on the Bronco...
