76 vs 77 C6 rebuild kit
 

So I'm attempting my first auto-tranny rebuild, which happens to be on a C6. I ordered a video and all the parts and as I was disassembling the valve body and comparing parts I realized I had a problem. The other night when I was up late ordering parts, I accidentally selected a rebuild kit for a 66-76 when I needed 77-96. My transmission is an 87. :-banghead This is a TCI Maximizer Rebuild Kit. The package of seals and gaskets inside the kit says for 66-96, so I'm thinking I can use everything but the valve body parts and just order the 77-96 shift kit and I should be good to go? The kit came with the clutch packs. Are those any different from pre and post 77? Thanks in advance for your help.
