Anyone in the Henderson/Las Vegas area?

I am living in Henderson, NV at the moment and want to do the six litre tune up on my truck. Most of it is pretty easy other than adjusting the timing. I have never done the timing on a vehicle before so I thought I would see if there was anyone on here in my area with a timing light that would want to help me out.

Thanks

Nobody? I was hoping there would atleast be one person on here. You sure don't see to many of these trucks running around here though.

Well if you cant find anyone setting timing is rather easy. Climb under the truck and mark 10* BTDC on the harmonic balancer. Then mark 13* in a different color. Then go up to the top and mark the needle that sticks out over the harmonic balancer. Once all those are marked hook up the timing light like instructed in the timing lights instructions. Test and see where your timing is with the SPOUT connector removed. Should be 10*. To advance the timing, shut off the motor, loosen the distributor hold down clamp, and rotate the distributor VERY SLIGHTLY clockwise. Then fire it up and check timing. I set mine to 12.5*. Once set, tighten the hold down clamp and reconnect the SPOUT. Thats it.

Thanks for the advice. I have heard the timing is pretty easy to do, I just don't have a timing light. I wonder if checkers or autozone rents them.
