Pulling 400 From 75 Ranchero? (What Can Be Reused) Questions.

Hey It's Phil Here I am prepping for Pulling The Engine From my ranchero It's a 351/400m I need to know what i have to do to remove this engine from my truck. I plan on leaving the transmission in if that will stay in its place without dropping. Or should i pull them together?

What Parts in my engine are also reusable such as "Pistons, Cranks shaft, and timing chain, ( timing chain is only reusable on my block because its brand new)

What are you planning on putting back in it? The same motor or new crate engine? Most anything could be reused if you wanted too, just depends on the condition of the items. If you are doing nothing to the tranny leave that SOB in there. Just make sure to drain, and then drain again to avoid any left behind fluids from going all over the ground.

I basically just want to change the cam to a hydrollic roller set up, piston rings, after honing and rebuild the top end. Maybe put in a high pressure oil pump etc.

i just seen an engine kit on ebay for that.no pistons, just a re-ring kit,139$check it out.let me know how the bumpstick works with the stock springs.im getting ready to do the same.
with tools the engine is out in like an hour, thats why i bought mine, got tired of 9 hr removals.i drove a 5.0 for 11 yrs,now own a 76 ranchero.god how nice it is to replace spark plugs using an extension and no swivel.ive just done basic tuning and accell wires, and replaced bad parts and repaired a doglegged exhaust.gonna be a nice truck.
