Older Blue Gets a Bath

http://i1146.photobucket.com/albums/.../th_1948F3.jpg Well no excuses... my truck has been parked in the shed for way too long without much work being done. My father-in-law came down today and we towed the F3 out to wash the dust off. The truck was still a little wet when I took the pics so it looks pretty good. This is the first time it's been out of the shed in several years... so pretty exciting for me! We took the carb off to clean it up and I'm hoping to try to get it to run sometime soon. I'll keep all of you posted on the big day when Older Blue comes to life again. There will be pics AND video! |
Looks like it's one step closer to taking a trip to KY.

I just finished washing my 52 about half an hour ago. I couldn't stand seeing it covered with dirt after not being washed for about a year. I may apply a coat of wax tomorrow morning before the sun comes up.

Rob,
What color blue is that and how did you apply it? Nice looking truck. MP |
Bob just getting the truck out of the shed, washing several years of dust off and doing a little work on it is like driving to KY for me! Maybe some day we'll do the "Born to be Wild" road trip together!
Mike thanks and I'm not sure on the color as the previous owner painted it. Sure looks like Ford blue to me! |
This reminds me of one time I washed the F-2 to take to some event. Both my wife and I got ready to leave just as a neighbor pulled into the driveway and walked up the house. All 3 of us were standing around chatting when the neighbor mentioned how nice we and the truck looked. I said, "Yeah, she cleans up pretty well for her age, the truck too." :-X04 My wife didn't think it was all that funny.:-X19

Great minds think alike Bob! I think there's a very good chance I would have said the same thing...
