In the EcoBoost family now.

It isn't a truck but it is an EcoBoost......

The wife's Yukon was getting some miles on it and she wanted a change. After she saw the Taurus SHO, she had to have it.....can't say I blame her.:D

This thing scoots!}>

Real nice John, sharp car, nice color, and you say it has the 6cyl dual turbo motor! That absolutely must fly!

Lots of luck buddy :)

That is sweet John! My wife's uncle, a retired Ford worker has a 2011 SHO and he thinks he's 18 years old again! He can't get over the idea that his car and my truck have the same basic engine.

Nice ride...have thought about that car a few times, will have to get your honest (as honest as one can be on FTE) opinion.

powerstroke72 07-13-2012 08:44 PM

Thanks guys!:)

I love this thing but I haven't laid eyes on it since the wife took it from the lot today.:(:D

She's been at the in-laws' place with the kids and I've been enjoying the serenity of an empty house.;)

Seriously though, I've driven it and it is super comfortable. It will also boogie down the road pretty darn good.

I'm curious to see how the mileage works out on it. It's rated 17 / 25 but we'll see. I'm guessing I'll see 17 if I'm driving it and she'll see at least 25.

Scott, it is a super smooth ride. I was a little worried about it when they ordered it. I had to opt for the 20" wheels because the order was being held on the 19s. Having driven it though, I can't imagine it riding any better than it does. It's very smooth. You can tell it's more of a sport-tuned suspension than the regular Taurus but nothing harsh. It really soaks up the bumps very well. So far, I'm going to have to learn the My Ford Touch system and get the Nav up and running. Other than that, I guess I'll immerse myself in the owner's manual this weekend and try to figure out all of the gadgets on it.:-X22

Sweet ride!! Do they come with all wheel drive?? They also have the paddle shifters on the steering wheel don't they? That has to be a blast to drive!!! Best of luck with it! Kevin

powerstroke72 07-19-2012 07:54 PM

Thanks Kevin!

Yep....All-wheel drive is standard on the SHO and it does have the paddle shifters.

Oh and it IS a blast to drive.:D

Sharp Taurus.

We have a 2011 Flex Limited AWD with the 3.5L EcoBoost - Always brings a smile to my face when driving it!

Thanks.:)

I told my wife the other night, it's hard to believe this thing has 165 more horsepower than my '86 5.0 Mustang GT did when it was new.:p

Sweat! I love the looks for the 2013. I actually traded my 2009 F150 for a 2010 SHO last year when my wife proclaimed she was done with the camper. I love it! That said I need a truck every other week, and will buy another truck when the SHO is paid off. (keeping the SHO of course).

PrinceValium 07-31-2012 07:32 PM

That thin look cool congrats!! I would love to test drive one of those...however I need a truck so oh well.

17/25 seems a bit conservative if you ask me. Our F150 gets 16.5-17 mixed country and 20-22 highway. Nice score, love the wheels!

Thanks guys!:)

I took it to TN last week for a mini vacation. I left home, filled up, reset the MPGs, and hit the road. 175 miles later, the wife, both kids, a trunk full of luggage, and yours truly pulled into the lot where we were staying.

Average MPGs on the trip down read 28.9.:-X22

Just guessing, I figure about 100 pounds of luggage and crap the kids took with them....wife and daughter don't travel lightly.:D

Anyway, we rode around for the next three days in bumper to bumper stop and go traffic. We hit the road home and I never reset the gauges. Back in the driveway at the house, the average MPGs for the entire trip were 23.6.

Coming back, the trunk was packed to the top because it was "tax-free" weekend and we had stocked up on all of the school clothes and supplies for the kids. I'm guessing around 250 pounds of stuff in addition to the four of us in the car.

Not too shabby.;)
