Fuse Box Diagram for Ford F-100
 

Hello, I'm new to this forum but not new to Fords--grew up with them my whole 25 years of life. Anyways my question or problem is that I have a 1984 Ford F-100 and while I've searched online to locate a diagram of the fuse box for this specific year and model I haven't had much luck. If anyone could help me I'd greatly appreciate it, along with the location of the fuse for the tail lights/brake lights. Thank you again.

You can't have a 1984 F100. They stopped production in 1983. 1984 would be an F150.

If you do insist it's an F100, the vin will begin with either 1FT or 2FT meaning either US or Canadian manufacture, the next letter will be any letter up to E, and the numbers/letters after that will be:

F10 - F100 2WD
F11 - F100 4WD

F15 - F150 2WD
F14 - F150 4WD

If it's not an F, but an X, you have an extended cab truck.

I recommend picking up a Chilton's manual at your local auto store for a 1976 to 1986 Ford truck. This includes wiring diagrams as well as service instructions/maintenance instructions. Others will be along shortly and they might have the diagrams for the wiring for your F150. :-drink

Will.... I may be wrong but I seem to remember having come across some 1984 F100 parts in the book, I think when I was looking up front end stuff for somebody.

I don't think there was ever a 4WD version of an F100 (and, I can't find an F11 Series Code in the book) one needed to purchase the F150 if they wanted that.

I might be wrong, but I don't think I am. All of the parts engines on rockauto, Advance auto, etc. don't list a 1984 F100, and I've never seen one listed anywhere/for sale. Maybe it was a Canadian/Mexican/South American thing? Plus, you've said yourself, even those books can be wrong.

We'd know for certain if we could see the vin.

If it is a 1984 F100, wouldn't the vin be F10(whatever engine code)(check digit) and the year code would be E for an 84 after those.

I think the F100 4x4's were the older trucks, not this generation. I've seen plenty of them listed on Craigslist around here. Though, they are hard to find (mainly because people turn them into redneck mobiles or just hang onto them).

This was an era where the manufacturers were playing games with the EPA when the emissions regulations were still evolving full-force, the split between F100 and F150 as I recall was to get around emissions regulations.

Yeah, I'd like to see the Cert Label but the VIN would be helpful and it would look like you described.
