Fiberglass Bed Cover
Will a fiberglass bed cover for a 2001 F-350 super duty fit a 2010 F-350 super duty? I am selling/trading in my 2001 and depending on what I get for it ($) the bed cover may or may not go with it, and I am curious if it will fit the newer truck.<O:p</O:p

I don't think it will fit properly around the tailgate lip. When they came out with the tailgate step they changed the lip and it protrudes outward now more than it did before. So I think new lids will fit old tailgates, but old lids won't fit new tailgates.

F250/350, 99-12 boxes are reportedly the same as far as the cover fit. Yes the gates slightly different as mentioned by bpounds. But not at the inside edge… I believe.
I was recently in the market for a used Extang Trifecta, Tri-fold either the soft or the hard covers and wanted to confirm what would/wouldn’t fit while shopping on Craigslist. I called the local "trim" shop which carries Extang brand covers. The PN they gave me for the soft tri-fold is 44720. 56720 is the solid and their book says all the same 99-12. These two numbers are for the 6.5’ box. But I believe the gates are the same on either the 6.5 or the 8’? So I'd just give the local trim shop a call to verify. Get back to us to confirm one way or the other. The 44720 I just bought fits well. |
flat covers will work but a cap will not because of how the top plastic piece is now.

Ahh yes you are right I missed that tid-bit in the frist email. I do remember seeing that when researching the covers. Thanks for settin the record straight!
