It's generally kinda slow on Sunday nights around here. Ya it's been done. Prolly the first upgrade folks make to most all of them.

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ghtsafter1.jpg

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Sure it can be done, but why? They start, run, and drive well with 6V.

Let's see, there's slower starts, dimmer lights, harder to find batteries, and a lack of modern accessories just off the top of my head. Wonder why we don't all drive 6V cars and trucks anymore? :-X21

My 6V cars start right up and have good headlights (halogen). The local tractor dealer had a 6V battery on the shelf the last time I needed one. Detroit switched to 12V since you can run wire half the size compared to 6V and save money.

Let's agree to disagree...:-X04

Thanks to all! I got some great help, the links are pretty good. I just want to switch to 12v because everything is easier to find for the most part. I also plan on changing the motor and transmission in the future to something newer. On that note, I have a 255ci flathead V8 that I will be taking out along with the transmission - I'm not sure which tranny it is yet, I need to figure that out. They're solid and run great. I don't want to see them go to waste so if anyone knows somebody looking to go with an original send me a note.
