Rob, Rob, Rob...you goofy SOB!...ha-ha

Our oldest is a texting fool...I'm not sure Zoe will be as much...but at least she has it if she wants it.

How's everyone doing tonight?...been quiet in here today!

KingBigJoe 06-22-2012 04:28 PM

Yeah... your right, Joe. It has been silent here. But, I'm currently plotting what I'll do tomorrow morning after I take my mom to work...

X_Hemi_Guy 06-22-2012 04:32 PM

Hmmm...tomorrow...

I think I need to pull some weeds (they don't care about the drought) and then pack my clothes since I don't plan to be in any shape when Tracey drives me home tomorrow night from the summer solstice party...and I have a 10am plane to catch on Sunday!...

Just got done with my workout...cooling down before a shower and a quick dinner and then a movie at 7:30...goofy like me...LOL...good one Rob!

cowboywanabe 06-22-2012 04:37 PM

I figured you needed some tormenting Joe since Wag hasn't been around to do so... ;)

X_Hemi_Guy 06-22-2012 04:41 PM

So we'll have to figure out where we will hook up in Hill City area late July!...hopefully we can make that happen with yourself, your wife and Trent!...that would be cool!...

We could always hang out at the camper and drink some beer, smoke cigars and talk about the Braska chapter leader goofing off so much?...

cowboywanabe 06-22-2012 04:43 PM

We should arrange to have Pat dragged kicking and screaming across the border so he can join us. :D

The wife hasn't said yay or nay to coming, but she doesn't think it will be a problem for me. Is it the weekend of 21-22 or 28-29?

Jigger2020 06-23-2012 07:50 AM

Good morning FTE gang, have a great weekend....:)

Have fun at the party Joe

We will arrive at Hill City about 2pm on Thursday the 26th.

We'll probably do the sightseeing thing on Friday the 27th (weather permitting of course) Rushmore, Crazy Horse (we saw it in 2006...it will be interesting to see how much or little they have progressed in 6 years!), Custer SP, Sullivan Lake?, Needles Highway, Iron Mountain Road and the like...figure those places will probably be busier on a Saturday over a Friday?...they will be busy regardless since it is summer!

We'll also want to see the night lighting ceremony of Rushmore...which isn't too far from Hill City...right?

We also want to do Jewel Cave and possibly Wind Cave NP...

So...given all that...I'll bet our GTG will be more in the evening timeframe hanging out someplace that is teen friendly or simply over at our campground?...thoughts?

BTW...dragging Pat would be great!

We plan to pull out of Hill City on Sunday the 29th...but we're not going far...just over to Badlands and Wall Drug (LOL)...for a couple of nights there before heading back to Indiana...

What are your thoughts?

X_Hemi_Guy 06-23-2012 07:58 AM

Morning Indiana and our IN friends...Especially Gerry this morning!!!

Well it was family night last night...we went to the drive-in and saw the new Pixar movie Brave along with an older movie Avengers...got home about 2am since it is so near the Summer Solstice (more on that later!)

Both movies were entertaining...and you have to love being able to go to the movies and take lawn chairs to hang out with snacks, beer, cigars and last night was a perfect night weather wise and since we're under drought conditions...there are absolutely NO SKEETERS!!!...

It actually got a little cool about midnight...Zoe and I were behind the van in our recliner chairs with blankets on us...Mia and Tracey were laying out in the back of the van with all the seats folded down with pillows and blankets all snuggled down...we had a great time!!!

Couple of honey-do's on the list today and than a Summer Solstice blowout party at a buddy's house...booze, food, live band and I'm sure cops will show up at least once since he lives in a neighborhood...but everyone there isn't there to fight and rough house...the noise with over 100 people just is hard to control...you know!

I'll get back on a plane tomorrow morning headed back to SoCal!

Have a great day everyone!

Joe.

X_Hemi_Guy 06-23-2012 08:02 AM

Gerry,

Thanks...the party my buddy has is amazing...he's been doing it for well over 5 years now...quite the blowout for sure...we always have a great time.

He's got 3 or 4 corn hole games setup as well as a few drinking games like flippy cup...

Weather looks amazing for tonight...so that's great!

Tracey will be driving me home...LOL...but I can't get be too bad...I have to get on a plane at 10am tomorrow...ha-ha

Any big plans up nort today...ehh?

Joe.

Jigger2020 06-23-2012 08:39 AM

Sounds like yer gonna be busy there, have fun

shorebird 06-23-2012 09:13 AM

Good morning Joe, Gerry & all who come.
Enjoy your festivities Joe and have a safe trip.
Send my belated Happy Birthday to your daughter.

KOESTNER 06-23-2012 08:08 PM

Evening Ford fans everywhere! Have yourself a wonderful Sunday.

X_Hemi_Guy 06-24-2012 06:12 AM

Morning Indiana and all of our IN friends!

Well we had a great time at my buddy's house...we left about 12:30 and the cops had not been there "yet"...there were still 60+ people outside and the band was still playing...our host was walking around with shots of Patron...I didn't "need" any...but had one with him...I was content to enjoy my beer and cigar...I got rooked into playing flippy cup for a few rounds...that is nothing more than a speed drinking game...it's fun...but I bowed out after a few rounds to return to consumption at my own pace!

He had burgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken breasts, meatballs, cheese platter, salsa, chips, nuts, pretzels, cookies, chocolates, you name it...plus beer (2 kegs and a lot of bottles and cans in the coolers, wine, liquor, YOU NAME IT...he throws a heck of a bash...

Lots of 20 somethings there...man those kids look younger and younger each year!...

Tracey was the DD last night as she had to pick up our daughter later last night anyway...so it was cool...no drinking and driving...we trade off on who drinks and who drives...been doing that for decades...

Well I'll be getting on a plane headed back to SoCal in a little bit...I'm going to read the paper, shave and shower and get ready for the trip...

I'll check in when I get to that liberal state I seem to find myself very frequently!

Oh yeah...we've been getting stuff slowly ready for our big 4500 mile RV trip that we leave for on July 13th...we just have to make up the menu so Tracey can get the food and stuff...I'm going to see what beer sales we have since the 4th is next week!

And finally...gas is "down to" $3.40 here in Fort Wayne...we normally are one of the highest in the state...and the barrel price continues to FALL...but the at pump price sure lags...I hope it continues down since I'll be burning over 500 gallons next month!

Have a great day everyone!

Joe.

nebo 06-24-2012 06:31 AM

Jigger2020 06-24-2012 01:37 PM

I wish that I can go back 6 years & 63 pounds ago. But, that won't ever happen. It is amazing how much you learn through the ages.

Jigger2020 06-24-2012 02:33 PM

King Joe you can do it if you make yer mind up do do it, 63 is easier to loose than 100 so a bit of will power goes a long way........

Yeah... Back then I was around 150 pounds & depending on what part of the year you want me to go back to... I even had a job.

Jigger2020 06-24-2012 05:39 PM

Sorry to hear about the job part, there must be some thing you can do.....that sucks

KingBigJoe 06-24-2012 05:45 PM

The only two things I can do is to hope for a better economy & have corporate america ship jobs back from China or win the lottery. But, at least I have time to plot out what I want to do to my truck & work on it :D .

Jigger2020 06-24-2012 05:49 PM

Ya take advantage of this time off to be productive.....I'm lucky I can always rebuild trannies for cash.......

More times than not over the almost 5 years of being unemployed I wasn't really productive. But, during that time I did learn the following...

- Commerical Driving (Class B) [my best accomplishment to date]
- Tiling
- Plumbing
- Life Insurance Sales Agent (but was really unsuccessful)
- Learned some things about the Ford F Series trucks [for my newest hobby :-X06 ]

:-X03

Jigger2020 06-24-2012 06:07 PM

Well thats great, you can work in one of those fields then.....

I can do plumbing & tiling but not selling life insurance. I don't really like dealing with people. That & no one is really hiring....

Jigger2020 06-24-2012 06:27 PM

I was always more of a laborer too, I couldn't sell ins either

KOESTNER 06-24-2012 07:36 PM
