My new '59

I finally figured out how to get some pictures up of the '59 i just got. A new project. I've turned to this site plenty with advice on my past F100s and am sure i will continue to. the most knowledgable i've run across on the web. And maybe i can help some people along the way. Thanks to you all.

*Well, i guess i havent figured how to insert pics here. But, i put them in my gallery.:-huh

Jason, Thats a nice looking truck. Whats your plans?

punchy1 05-28-2012 11:25 PM

Thanks. First just tidying up some of the minor things. I've about got the wiring ironed out. I'm going to change the wheels and tires when I decide what i want to go with. Eventually i'd like to look into power steering conversion and disc brakes at least on the front. I'm not familiar with what all it takes, but I'm sure it's a task. especially the steering. Also, will figure what engine i want to put in it when this one gives. It's solid now and may last awhile. It's a 305 (yikes) and guy said it's got around 100,000 miles on it. No way to confirm that. But when it gives, I'd definitly like to get a ford engine back in it. The truck is in pretty decent shape, but I'm sure I will always have something going on with it. I'd have it no other way :).

Oh yea, thanks for the pic technical support, Teddy.

Jason, Your welcome! As far as the power steering goes search toyota power steering swaps. A lot of us have done them, it is the way to go, you can keep your old column or up grade. Up in the top bar under Articles/specs check under our year and you'll find plenty of info.
Good luck in your quest.

Thanks a bunch, Teddy! I will check out that about the toyota steering swap. See, that's the kind of things i probably would have never thought of without this forum. The truck is really running well. I spent most of the day up in Encinitas on a side job. Thanks again.

Ya, that toyota swap was one of the first things i read about on this site. The first time I rebuilt my truck was back in 1981, with no internet it was up to me and a handful of friends to figure out something to work. Now we got a world full of friends to bounce ideas off of.
You gotta love side jobs they are what support this habit.
