I have been looking for ELC Coolant

In my search I found the Part # for Cat ELC Concentrate as well as the 50/50 mix.

Some posters have said that concentrate has not been available.

Cat Parts: Parts>Machine Fluids>Coolants>Extended Life Coolant

Concentrate 1 gal 238-8647 27.20 gal
50/50 1 gal 238-8648 14.59 gal

I recently picked some up at NAPA. If you find someone who stocks the 50-50 mix, just ask them to order you the concentrate. If they can get one, they can get the other. They'll just have to look it up in their book.

Zerex recently changed the name of it in their book, so you have to know what it is your looking for and may have to help them find it in the book.

I had O'reilly Auto Parts order me a case of Peak Final Charge Cat EC-1 concentrate for ~ $20/gal.

I went with the Zerex from NAPA as well, it was under $20/gallon for concentrate. :-X22

Generally, all CAT rental outlets will sell ELC both 50/50 and concentrate. Use the link and select rental equipment and put in your zip and it will show you the closest CAT store to your location so if you just gotta have CAT ELC, this is the place to find it. As noted by others, there are also other outlets that may carry CAT ELC as well but this is your best bet.

Caterpillar Dealer Locator

If nothing shows up under rentals, try sales and services tabs as well

Same here.

Make sure they know you want concentrate, not 'ready to use' 50/50.

SardiverDan: I worked for the Cat Dealer in Ky for over 40 years. It is 70 miles away in either direction.
I was trying to find some Delo. because it is the same stuff and a little cheaper.
I can get a small employee discount still from the Cat dealer, but I am TIGHT. (:-)

And they have to order the concentrate.

You can also use "Fleet Gaurd" ES complete, I have been using it for 10 years in my 2000 Ex, it is EC 1 rated as well. I think I payed about 11.50$ a gallon for 50/50 premix.
You can find that at any Cummins dealer.

Just another alltunative.

hammer65,

My father got me started on CAT ELC as he also retired out of Wyoming Machinery Company Caterpillar many years ago. I dropped by the CAT rental store in Temecula California and they had cases of concentrate and 50/50 on the sales floor. Like many of us, I use what my father used which is probably why I drive Ford because I grew up with them. That and Rotella T:-X22

I said insisting that CAT is the only good brand is silly, not that I wont use CAT. The only other ELC available here is Chevron DELO at a gas station and they dont stock enough.

Wow, if that's what you took from the posts, you didn't understand what was being stated. Plainly stated, I might add.
