New Truck Happy Camper
Been looking for a truck to replace my old 7.3 IDI van and wanted to go with gas for a while.....finally found what i was looking for....1996 F350 Crew Cab...109,000 original miles...460 with 4.10 Limited slip rear...Cali truck so no rust and body is straight....has a 4" body lift with 33's...not crazy about the lift or tires for my use so may be dropping it and putting original style wheels and tires on it...link below has more pics...

Wow beautiful truck! I'd live to fine one of those, but rust has set in on most of anything up here
Not a bad looking truck. Not a 4x4 though is it? If it is, the 33" tires would fit still if you took the lift out. What'd you pay for it?
Coil spring front means 2wd
I guess I didn't look that hard. Lol.
That's a clean looking truck you have there... Nice find!!
Don't mind telling, I think i got a fair deal...$4500

still trying to decide about the lift and tires...it does look good as is....never lifted a truck, what has to be done to "un lift" ?
To take the body lift out, you will have to find some factory body mount bushings I'm pretty sure. Which, for the pain that it is, you may as well stick with the lift. If you offroad the truck a lot, you might want to take it out though. That's a really good price. There was a 97 F350 for sale at the dealership in town here with 150k miles on a 7.3 for double that price so I think you made out well.

Or instead of factory rubber bushings, there is always the option of polyurethane replacements. They would set the truck back down to factory height while improving over the factory design...
What if I keep the lift and get some narrower E load tires?
I guess the real question is, what do you plan on hauling? Do you plan to put all kinds of weight on the box, or pull a trailer with a frame mounted receiver hitch?
Not that much in the bed... Pulling enclosed trailer...
You should be ok with switching to E range tires then. I was going to say that if you planned on putting a gooseneck hitch in the box and hauling things, I wouldn't recommend that. But it won't hurt anything if you have a receiver hitch.

I am the original owner of that truck. I hope it is treating you well I hope you kept the body lift and tires on, they completed the look of the truck. Do you mind if i ask where you bought the truck? i sold it to a dealer here in California when i upgraded to a newer truck. I miss her, hope youre treating her well!!
