Which Spark Plug Socket?

Looking to change my plugs tonight and wanted to know what socket you guys recommend. I didn't know if there is a better one for theses plugs. Thanks.

depends on engine born on date

Shouldn't be a problem on 08 but double check the engine build date. Should be on the engine and can be read on the left hand cam cover information sticker. If engine build date after 11/30/07. Then you dodged a bullet. If engine built before then, research like I did for proper precautions to prevent the two piece plug from breaking in the head. I didn't have the engine build date info until I had spend a week looking up how screwed I thought I was. Otherwise I bought an OTC 6900 Ford F-150 Spark Plug Socket and have 3" and 6" extensions handy. I had all eight changed in about an hour. Most places I read said to ensure the engine is fully cooled off before changing the plugs. As usual check the gap. Can't remember what it was. I used 8 Motorcraft SP-509 Spark Plugs off of amazon at $11.60 ea. I made sure that the seller had positive packaging reviews because they can be damaged in shipment. Hope it helps.

Awesome info! Thanks. I do have the newer style plugs-brown boot. I got out 4 of the plugs. Not much effort. Waiting to do the 4 harder ones after I get some more extensions u-joint type adapters. The old plugs looked pretty good for having 100K miles on them. Thanks for the input.

Yeah I forgot about the knuckle adapters. They are worth weight in gold for the spark plug change out. Especially the ones close to the fire wall. good job.

engine code

Not to high jack this thread but I recently discovered some disturbing info with my 2007 expy limited. I was expecting to have the long plugs that everyone has breaking off, however when I removed a plug it was a 5507 or NGK PZNAR6A11H. That seems awesome however everything I can find says these plugs are for a 2008 expy with brown boots. However, I have a 2007 with black boots?????? I have called ford and they have no record of my motor being swapped. So now what?? Thanks for any advice.
