Leveling Kit

I'm looking at a Day Star leveling kit for my '09 F-150 4x4 screw.

Any pros or cons? Anyone have better experience with another brand? I'm not going to be buying new tires/wheel anytime within the next year. Will wait 'till the one's I have wear out before buying new.

Let me know.

I went with the Auto Spring 2 inch lift. Very substantial unit. It installed pretty much as claimed. The stance is perfect, and there's no discernible difference in ride quality from stock.

I'd go with the auto spring over the Daystar. I put a auto spring leveling kit on my truck 36,000 ago and have had no problems. I really like that it's steel, the Daystar is poly. Plastic really has no place being wedged between two steel pieces. Plus the auto spring has an offset design that eliminates the potential of the A arms rubbing against the coil spring. I'm not sure if the Daystar has an offset design.

Thanks....I completely forgot to mention that....

Why do you need a leveling kit? Is there a noticeable rake on the F150's?

The nose seems to be much lower than the rear. I like the looks of it level.

I did the 2" AS also, and to me it seemed to sit nose-high even though it measured level. IIRC the front wheelwell openings are larger, but anyway I eventually went with the 3" rear block to bring the back up 1.5" and I think it sits perfect! Just my .02

I also went with the 2" Autospring kit. One thing to keep in mind is not every truck will get the same exact amount of lift out of the same leveling kit. That's why some end up a little nose high and some don't. I still have .5" of rake and that is the stance I wanted. It looks way better than it did with the 2.5" rake mine had when it was stock.

This is true. I had 3" of rake on my '05 FX4 nd decided to go with a 1.5" leveling kit since I tow/haul quite a bit and didn't want the truck to squat. I ended up getting 2" of lift from the kit, which is what i wanted to begin with, but was afraid to order a 2" kit because of the reports I read about people getting more lift than advertised.

I used the 2.5" Rough Country and looks perfect.

I would think that leaving some rake in the front would help keep the headlights out of the trees when pulling.

Where did you get the rear block? I've been looking online and I can't find them anywhere.

Any pictures of your truck? What size tires are you running?

Probably... I adjusted my headlights (down) after installing my leveling kit just because they needed it. I don't tow anything heavy so I won't have any problems. But it could be an issue for people with level trucks who do tow heavy loads.

I got mine on Ebay, can't remember the seller but there were plenty for sale. Pics in my garage, click on the 2010F150 in blue under my screen name. The first one of the drivers side was right after we did the rear blocks this winter. Tires are 295/70-18 Nitto TG specs 34.4" tall x 11.4 wide, basically a 35"

I also have AirLift rear bags for if I haul something heavy like a load of firewood or tow something
