Secret to seating injectors?

I dont suppose there is, but this only being the 2nd set of injectors I have ever reinstalled I am not thinking I know it all. lol

If theres a trick other than slobbering them down with clean motor oil and just pushing them in I would be very thankful to know it.

Can you use a dead blow or rubber mallet on them? I would think it would take a chance of damaging the top of them, but thats why I am asking. Thanks

use lost of oil and i used a rubber hammer to seat them.
you can use a level to make sure there all in good, they should be the same hight.

The OTC 6067 is a good tool for the job.

x2 .. Tap tap tap with the small rubber mallet.. Just a tap.. Don't take a lot to get them in place but just a bit more than the smack of the fist.

You need to make sure there is not any oil in the cup. If the cup has a bunch of residual oil it can keep the injector from seating. You should be able to push them down and get them to seat, then the hold-down will be able to seat on the upper bolt, so you can install the lower bolt. Just don't over torque them.

Like said above, tap with a dead blow till you hear it seat.

Tap- (adj.) to LIGHTLY bang on injector solenoid as to not break any PLASTIC parts.

My method is to install the injector by hand far enough so the clamp can be hooked over the top bolt. I then grab two plastic mallets with wooden handles and position the handle of one mallet on the lower portion of the clamp while I gently tap on the head with the other mallet. This usually seats the injectors nice and easy. I prefer not to tap on the solenoid as they are somewhat fragile.

Just to show what the book says on how to do it the "right" way for reference.

I got some to go in by just pushing on them with my hand good, others I used a rubber mallet like mentioned.
