215/75r15 for the front and 275/60r15 on rear?

215/75r15 for the front and 275/60r15 on rear? Has anyone ever done this on a 67-72 truck and how did it look? I want wider tires on the rear and skinny tires on the front. By the way I have 15x8 wheels with a 4-4.5" backspacing. The tires are both around 28" tall, the 215's are close to 8.5" wide and the 275's are close to 11". Thank you very much. Pictures would also help. I found a decent set of 215's for $20 btw, just dont know how they will look.

Do a search in this forum and look for posts by WilliamWilliam. He has a black F100 wearing 215/70-15s in front and 275/60-15s in the back. His lowered rig has an awesome stance. He stated that the skinny/wide sizes accounts for the narrower rear track width so it doesn't look like it is "dog walking".

I'm replicating his tire sizes - stock wheels in front and 15x8 stock steel wheels in the back. I sourced the two "Series 62" 15x8s by Wheel Vintiques through Summit Racing. $83 each.

Do you think it would still look good even though my trucks at stock height? Id lower it but i still cant find a cheap way to do it. I can flip the rear, but i have no clue on the front.

That would be my ride! Any questions not answered in the thread above let me know and I will try to answer for ya

You can probably run a 275/70 on the front with a 275/60 on the rear at stock height and it will look OK. ....otherwise you will have alot of "tire to fender" space on the front of the truck. Just my opinion of course!

I love your truck, my trucks now nearly as pretty as yours btw. I was thinking it would look a little funny, and i was wondering if there were any stock height photos. I just wish I had some extra cash laying around to put in my truck ($3500.00) to be exact and i could get her finished. I was thinking of going with a satin black with white top paint scheme, but theres a real bright red that I seen on a 69' thats really getting my attention. I really want to do the whole lower kit, bed rails, roll pan and smooth tailgate look but I just dont have the cash for my dreams. Im going on 20 and the best job I found was roofing and I just dont work enough. All the money goes to gas for my jeep (which I plan to sale once my truck 67 f1 lwb is dependable 100%). lol

wouldnt it look funny with tires the same thickness but taller in the front? not trying to be ignorant, im here to learn, not put people down like a few on here.

david my truck is stock height with 245/60/15 & 275/60/15
i think the truck has to much space between tire and fender maybe go with 70 series front and back .
you can get tire height info on any tire just go to tirerack.com and punch in the size all specs are there .

Here is my truck back in 1993 with 255/70/R15 all around:

245/70 on the front would have looked better, in my opinion. I would go with a tire that is a little taller in the back than the front for sure....that will help fill up the fenders when looking from the side so that it will look more even and match the front.........You want a slightly wider tire on the back to help even it out since it has a narrower rear end, and so it doesnt look like it is running sideways down the road from behind. Maybe Mikes suggestion will help you as it sounds like that would be a good size going by his truck. The only down fall is if your gonna drive the truck alot, you cant rotate your tires unless you have the same size tire all the way around.

I meant to say a 245/70 front and 255/70 on rear will be OK. Sorry for the typo!!!!
