Driverside Lock Issues

After quite a bit of Googling I haven't found a direct answer about this. The driver side of my 99 Expedition (5.4) is having lock issues.

When I insert the key I can turn it either way without any resistance what so ever and it does not lock or unlock, it feels as if it has been completely disconnected. When I use the fob to lock and unlock the door it looks as if it's trying but it is meeting internal resistance. I can unlock the door by pulling on the inside handle and this works just fine (no resistance). But if I try to lock the door manually (by pushing down on the plunger) it has quite a bit or resistance and will not lock.

Also when rolling down the window it sounds like it hits something (only sometimes) so I've stopped using the Window for the moment. The issue started when my brother slammed the door pretty hard. I'm thinking something must have came loose or broke internally. Based on what I've read I don't think it's the actuator, but if it's not that I'm not sure what else it might be.

Either way any suggestions would be greatly appreciated since the local shop wants to charge me $90 just to look at it.

Rather than guess, pull off the door panel and look to see if anything is disconnected.

Hmm that's odd I guess the rest of the post didn't go through. The rest is:

A few weeks ago I had the same issue and took the door apart, there was a rod that looked like it fell off what I think from reading posts is the actuator. So I put it back on (looks like a pin or something else to hold it in place is missing), and that got it working for me for a few days, but now I'm back to the same issue. I'm getting ready to take it apart again, but am wondering if anyone knows what might be missing so I can replace it. I can post a picture of what it looks like or if someone could point me to a picture of what it should look like perhaps I can figure it out.
