i have AC in my shop too.
a 10,000 btu window unit sitting on one of the shelves, and a 95,000 btu furnace with a 5 ton AC unit to go with it sitting in the corner.
one of these days i am gonna hook one of them up.

fordpride 07-15-2012 04:15 PM

I'm on vacation in gulf shores Al.

Sitting by the pool watching my little one play. And it's hot as two mice humping in a wool sock

I'm kinda bored as you may see...

I got a used dana 60 complete REAR axle to put in my 76 for 100 bucks as mine is in bad shape. Same gear ratio and width but different spring locations so I ordered new perches for it today so I can work on that next weekend. I do have ac in the shop, talking 100 all this week and next weekend, except for 2 days in the mid to high 90's...

It's crazy how hot it is here as well. I was hanging ceiling grid in a commercial space when the power went out yesterday. I packed up do to no lights, but mostly cause no AC!

427 fordman 07-15-2012 04:36 PM

Those both made me laugh quite hard, thanks Tom and Mike! All I have for ac is a wall unit, I put it in a window. It's old and big, must be 20000. 220 unit. Loud as heck, but works pretty darn good. I did insulate the shed quite well when I built it though.

Enjoy your time away Mike. Watching the little one is as good as it gets. I'm gonna go see my granddaughter this friday I think, she's so cute!

I hear ya Todd. This weather I've been working 5:30 or so till noon. I'm just not gonna work tomorrow. It's just ridiculous.

tjc transport 07-15-2012 05:15 PM

2 am to 10am is a nice thing, unless the job runs over like it did on thursday and you don't get in until 4 pm.
but i had friday off to make up for it.

427 fordman 07-15-2012 05:55 PM

Those hours sound great to me, but I wouldn't be able to see for about 3 hours..:D

Have you tried calling?

Howdy everyone. Haven't had much time to snoop around the forum lately (darn summer classes).
But I'm still alive, for now... just finished up a motorcycle class today, getting my endorsement tomorrow. Then it'll be time to take my XR650L out on its' maiden voyage on the road, no more riding in circles in the back yard!

ReBilld 07-15-2012 11:10 PM

Hey Evan! Enjoy the bike, be safe :-X22

Brown Falcon 07-16-2012 12:05 AM

Will do. I don't have a death wish. Just want to have fun riding and save some fuel money...

HAH! If you dont have a death wish you shoulda bought something slower! lol thats why I will never get myself a crotch rocket. If it has the ability to go 240 id probably take it there...

That and I like the sound/style/look/culture involved with Harleys. Just a slow fat cruise bike that is overpriced and STILL awesome! lol

strokin'_tatsch 07-16-2012 03:32 PM

A friend of mine has a custom chopper I've thought about buying, but decided not to. It's got a 160hp Ultima engine with a 6 speed IIRC and will hurt you if you get into the throttle too hard. LOL. Not something that I need to be in control of being as throttle happy as I am.

Brown Falcon 07-16-2012 04:39 PM

I like the dualsports like my XR650... good mileage, decent highway manners, and the ability to dive off into the woods and explore!

ReBilld 07-16-2012 08:59 PM

I just acquired a 1971 Honda CB175. I got it out of the scrap metal dumpster at work. It's complete accept for the carb and one side cover. The guy that through it in the dumpster said it's been in his basement for 20 years or more. I asked him if he had the title to it, and he does! He's bringing me the title. It's in kinda rough shape, but could be restored, or used for parts for some one restoring one. I'm not gonna try to restore it, I'm just gonna sell it.......maybe American Pickers will buy it! LOL!!!

Wow, that's quite a project. I had a '72 Suzuki TS185 dualsport I was going to rebuild, but it needed way too much work...

Here's my XR650

Brown Falcon 07-19-2012 10:31 PM

Man, I am loving the bike! Lots of fun, great riding weather right now. Wish I would've gotten it sooner!

I know what you mean. I love to ride. I ride to work a lot, but it's been raining and I've had stuff to do that I needed my truck, so I haven't rode any this week. Hopefully this weekend will be nice.

427 fordman 07-20-2012 05:04 AM

I got to see my granddaughter yesterday for the first time in about a month. She answered the door when I stopped, and hollered "Gampa, Gampa!":D:D That is the first time she has called me grandpa, 2 years old.

She makes the bad day I was having a WHOLE lot better. Fun little girl for sure.

I had to share. She just puts a big smile on my face!

Brown Falcon 07-20-2012 05:36 PM

My son calls my dad "Bompa", the way he says it is hilarious! "Booooooompaaaaaa"

I've been riding to school every day this week!

My two year old grand daughter melts my heart! I know what you mean Darin.

We've PM'd each other a few times. He can't get any signal on his dish because of the trees. He says he's having withdraws! I guess he can get PMs if you want to contact him.

fordpride 07-23-2012 07:53 PM

I sent him a text last night to see if everything was ok but no response

fordpride 07-23-2012 07:54 PM

I see he was logged in around 8am this morning

ReBilld 07-23-2012 07:55 PM

I PM'd him from here a few times. I think he gets them on his phone. Took him a day or so to respond.

I did the same thing a week ago or so. He said he needed to clear a lot of trees to get a signal, I told him to get cuttin! He said he'd probably be off of fte for a little while.

I told him to put his dish in the top of one of the trees! LOL!!!

Lots of fun today. Full truck load of 6 people (picked up my wife's mom and sisters at the airport 2 hours from home). Turning into a parking lot at a park and heard a bang, followed by no power steering!
So while everyone else had a good time at the park, I got to take a death-defying ride through downtown Portland in a prius taxi to the parts store and back to get a new power steering line. At least I had tools with me!
