4.2 swap into an antique

I have a '60 F100 and I'm replacing the 223 I6 with another one soon.

Someday when this "new" one wears out, I'd like to put a 4.2/5-speed into it, but I'm concerned about the PATS. I realize I need to bring over the engine wiring harness and computer, but will I need to graft in an F150 gauge cluster and ignition key assembly for the computer to let the engine run?

Thanks for any insight.

Certainly will.

After doing a complete 3.8 rebuild within the last few months on a '95 Mustang, I'd seriously consider a different engine for this swap. Many parts for the Ford V6 have been discontinued by Ford and are many times higher than a small block Chevy or a Windsor Ford.
Here is one example: F4SZ-6019-DA is a timing chain cover for the V6. I see one on ebay for $335. A timing chain cover for a Windsor Ford is $65-$130 at Summit.
This is just one example and I have a couple dozen more. I had to search the internet for lots of pieces that Ford should still stock, but they don't. Had I know that, I would have taken a different path.

Thanks. Good advice.
