injector questions

where can i find a kit to rebuild them? is it even possible for me to do it at home or do i need to go to my buddy at the machine shop?

im gonna do a little junk yard shopping tomorrow. what years (injectors)will interchange with mine?

Late 99 - 03 AD injectors will work. Jim at Rosewood diesel stopped selling the DIY rebuild kits because of too many issues, but he does offer a reasonable rebuild price if you don't have any luck with the junkyard shopping.

Ok. Thank you sir. I appreciate the help

Yeah, I was about to say Rosewood did, but I think it's gotten to the point where "stupid people" have made it to where anybody's gonna get screwed trying to produce them. Shoot, I think a set of reman stage-1's from Casserly are only $1095 now... I about died when I saw that.

Issues. It runs rough until it gets to operating temp then its like I flip a switch and she's going good. If its not plugged in its next to impossible to start. I changed all the gp's and checked the relay

s#!^ that just sounds like my truck. im slowly becoming a diesel hypochondriac.
darn motors always sound like there about to fly apart. noisy rattly things.}>

but yeah i couldnt find any rebuild kits either. $150 each or bouts $1100 a set.
was the best i could do.

i have been digging around and found some for $128 (i think). havent made up my mind yet on what im gonna do yet.

At one time, Riffraff had some from full force diesel at about that same price

Those are the one's I was talking about... stage-1's @ $1,095.

bcaughhorn 04-06-2012 10:52 PM

i think that was on his site

I'd check codes first, if you haven't already. I don't have the problem your describing at all but my idle was getting a bit off and found some oil residue in my ICP and decided to get a new one from Clay and now I notice a slightly smoother idle. Haven't had the chance yet to drive but I'm anticapating better running conditions.

bcaughhorn 04-07-2012 07:27 AM

Don't have any codes

i have drove the truck a little more lately. it idles rough but if i drive her easy it smoothes out around operating temp. if i stick my foot deeper it smoothes out alot faster. and i also noticed that if i drive the truck and shut it off then jump back in her within a few hours shes fine but it she sits over night rough again..

does it sound like injectors??

You'd have to be able to watch live data to know a little better...
