Eliminating front fuel tank on 89 F150
 

Greetings, Friends! I had a leak on the front fuel tank on an 89 F150 4X4 6cyl. I had my mechanic eliminate the front tank. He plugged the fuel lines with bolts, and taped them up.. Unfortunately, one of the lines began to leak at the bolt (I assume it's still under pressure). Can I simply loop the two lines (again, I assume one is feed and the other return) with a rubber hose and clamps? Or will I be feeding fuel somewhere where it ought not go? Thanks! Mark

I wouldn't do that.
I would take the lines off the selector valve and bypass it.

Do not bypass it, That will cause other problems (surging and lean fuel on hills). Go to a salvage yard and get a single tank reservoir from a 1986-1989 Ford BII, Bronco or a single tank truck of those years.

Would anyone know the PSI of this fuel line? I capped the plastic fuel ine with a rubber cap and JB weld. At least until I could get a single function reservoir. Will this hold against the pressure in the dead fuel line?

That depends on a lot of things. If the Duel function reservoir is not working right the return fuel pressure could go very high.
But if the Duel function reservoir is working right you should have zero pressure on both fuel lines at the missing tank.
